NOTIFICATION REGARDING RETENTION FEES
The Govt. of India vide notification number GSR.1337(E) dated 27th October’ 2017 published in the official Gazette of India has amended the Rules 63, 65B, 72, 73AA, 73 AB, 84C, 140, 143A and 150D under the Drugs and Cosmetics Rule 1945. Under this circumstances the application for renewal of licences under the above mentioned rules of the original rules is no more required.
The licencees (licence holders) are requested to follow the provision of the rules (as amended) by depositing the retention fees directly in the Govt. Head of Account.
The organizations for Drugs Control exist at two levels i.e. at the Central and State Government level.
The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) is the Central Drug Authority for discharging functions assigned to the Central Government under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. CDSCO has six zonal offices, four sub-zonal offices, 13 port offices and seven laboratories under its control. Major functions of CDSCO: 1. Regulatory control over the import of drugs, approval of new drugs and clinical trials, meetings of Drugs Consultative Committee (DCC) and Drugs Technical Advisory Board (DTAB), approval of certain licences as Central Licence Approving Authority is exercised by the CDSCO hqrs.
